Army Iron Man honors the state’s best two-way high school football player |

NASHVILLE, TN – The U.S. Army Nashville Recruiting Battalion is proud to announce that Tates Creek’s Brandon Shrout is Army Iron Man of the Year as the best two-way high school football player in Kentucky. For the season, Shrout had 1,027 all-purpose yards with nine touchdowns while making 12 tackles with 1.5 tackles for a loss, two passes broken up, two passes defended, and a fumble recovery. Fans from across the state selected Shrout for the honor. Shrout earned 4,326 votes with Meade County’s Thomas Wilson finishing second (2,844) while Collis High School’s Tavis Elzy was third with 2,620 votes. Playing and excelling on both offense and defense, the Army Iron Man must demonstrate physical and emotional strength, as well as strength of character. The Army Iron Man embodies the qualities of Army STRONG. The Army Iron Man of the Year will receive a customized ring from Jostens, Inc.
