FLORENCE, SC – South Florence earned the first-ever Palmetto Passing League (PPL) title with a 21-14 win over Cheraw in the PPL Championship Game at Freedom Florence Recreation Complex on Saturday, June 18.  The Bruins finished 7-0 during the event, winning its pool with wins over Hannah Pamplico, Lee Central, and Lakewood.  In the single-elimination championship round, South Florence knocked off North Myrtle Beach (20-0), Sumter (19-12), and Lamar (25-21) in the semi-finals.  Cheraw finished 6-1 with its first loss of the event in the championship game.  (More)
