KANSAS CITY, MO – The U.S. Army Kansas City Recruiting Battalion will host the ARMY STRONG BORDER CHALLENGE 7-on-7 on Saturday, June 30 @ Shawnee Mission West High School. The event will feature 16-20 high school football teams from throughout the Kansas City area. This is a non-contact seven-on-seven, single-day tournament will feature high school teams from Kansas and Missouri. The U.S. Army’s sponsorship of the event ensures that this will be a FREE event for the first 16 teams that sign-up to participate.
The format of the ARMY STRONG BORDER CHALLENGE 7-on-7 ensures that each team will play at least four games. Each team will play three games in pool play. The results from pool play will determine the seeding for the single-elimination championship round. In all, as many as 49 games will be played during the single-day event.
The ARMY STRONG BORDER CHALLENGE 7-on-7 is a traditional seven-on-seven, non-contact passing league played on a shortened field with only passing plays from the line of scrimmage. The game features quarterbacks, wide receivers, running backs, and defensive backs. The event is an opportunity for the student-athletes to sharpen their skills in a fun, yet competitive atmosphere.
