Denis Murray - Broad Run

Josh Kingett – Forest Park

Kevin Koch – Westfield

Mike Ramous – Liberty

Jacob Crawford – Robinson Brown went 4-0 for the week, winning the Willie Walthers Holiday Tournament at James Wood.  Crawford is the 18th-ranked 130-pound wrestler in the country and is 19-1 this season wrestling for Robinson.  Last season, at Millbrook, Crawford won a 119-pound title in AA.  E-mail your vote for Robinson's Jacob Crawford.

Robert Dooley – James Madison

 

Dooley was 6-0 with four pins, one technical fall, and one major fall last week, pinning his opponent to seal James Madison’s win over Stonebridge in a district dual match.  For the season, Dooley, a sophomore, is 24-3 and won the St. Stephens Tournament. Nick Martinez North Stafford

Andrew Embree – George Marshall Embree was 8-0 with eight pins this weekend at the Cavalier Duals at Archbishop Spalding.  For the season, Embree is 25-2 on the season with 20 pins.  For his career, Embree is 110-43 and is currently ranked 3rd at 215 in the metro area by the Washington Post. Evan Greenleaf – Woodbridge

Army STRONG Wrestler of the Year - Week Six  Nominees

Tyler Anthony – Loudoun County   Anthony was 5-1 last week, winning the 119-pound weight class at the Culpeper Duals and beat the 125-pound champion in the dual tournament.  For the season, Anthony is 22-3 with a career record on 109-25, winning the district and regional title in 2009 and finishing fifth in Maryland ’s Class AA state tournament. Brett Campbell – Westfield

Campbell was 9-0 last week with eight pins; four n the first-period; three in the second-period; and one in the third-period.  Campbell pinned the third and fourth-ranked wrestlers in Maryland ’s large school division.  Campbell helped Westfield improve to 9-0 this season.  For the season, Campbell is 39-6. Beau Donahue – Westfield

 

Donahue, wrestling at 135, went 9-0 last week, with three pins and two technical falls, defeating 2008 Maryland state champion and 2009 state finalist Peter Tatanish of Urbana High School , while also beating the third and tenth-ranked wrestlers in Virginia ’s Class AA.  For the season, Donahue is 37-7 and ranked eight in Virginia ’s Class AAA rankings. Ryan Hunsberger – Fauquier

Gage Swartz – James Wood

Army STRONG Wrestler of the Year - Week Ten  Nominees

Jacob Crawford – Robinson Crawford, a sophomore, won the 130-pound Class AAA state championship, beating Cox’s Michael Chalfant, 7-2, for the title.  It was Crawford’s second state title. E-mail your vote for Robinson's Jacob Crawford.

Austin Fallon – Westfield

Fallon wrapped up a 52-1 season with his second-straight Class AAA state championship, winning his final 7-0 over Deep Creek’s Charles Arnold.  Fallon is the first-ever two-time state champion in school history. E-mail your vote for Westfield's Austin Fallon.

 

Maximo Gonzalez-Paredes - Manassas Park

Dane Harlowe – Annandale

 

Harlowe finished second in the Class AAA state tournament, losing 8-3 to Cox’s Caleb Richardson in the 112-pound final.  Harlowe finished the season with a 41-1 record.  For the season, Harlowe was a Northern Super Regional Champion; a NOVA Classic Champion; Collingswood (NJ) Holiday Classic Champion; and Northern High School (MD) Champion. Evan Greenleaf of Woodbridge was the week five Army STRONG Wrestler of the Week, finished fifth in the region at 215-pounds, and won the Patriot Classic at Northern High School in Maryland.  Greenleaf set the school record with 34 pins this season. Ryan Hunsberger of Fauquier did not give up a single point in winning the 125-pound title in the Class AA State Tournament.  Hunsberger was a two-time runner-up in Class AAA with one seventh-place finish.  Hunsberger finished his prep career with a 180-29 record.
